Holiday season

Ah practically the last 3 days were filled with continuous games of DotA. I dunno how I got addicted, but I'm pretty much unstoppable now. Im still looking forward to many games though. :P Ahhhhh *stares at hole in wallet*. Cyber cafes are damn costly.

School is gonna start pretty soon. Can't wait. Yeah holidays might be great. But school isn't that bad either. Not to mention late night games of DotA with my classmates. Watch out Nick :P. I'm kinda sick and tired of throwing my money away. DotA, parking, patrol, mamak and games are really taxing. Its time to put a stop...nah reduction...to it.

Christmas was just normal. As like every other year, I went to my uncles house for dinner. We had turkey and lamb....yumm. Dinner was followed by chit chat and drinks. I had a t-shirt for present but its quite ugly I think I won't even wear it. Returned home after the party and slept for 12 hours. Didn't get to meet Santa this year. Like I said...normal.

The Asian Tsunamis was a very unfortunate disaster indeed. Everyday the death toll rises as more bodies are found. So many ppl have lost their family and friends. Sometimes I wonder if God is still fair. But maybe thats his punishment to mankind for being so 'inhuman' in the past few years with all the rising war and terrorism. And I suspect this isn't the worst yet. When the pandemic that was predicted strikes, the world is going to see more loses. Hopefully that day won't come. But we can only hope....

Looking from another angle we can see that help is already being sent to the victims of the tsunami. Thankfully the people is doing their best to reduce the pain and sufferings. There is still love and kindness in the world ;P. Highly affected countries such as Thailand and Sri Lanka are going to see a huge drop in economy and income from tourism, and I suspect that they will have to spend more to repair the damages and rebuild the villages. How unlucky.

Okok enough of the sad stuff. Here's some happy ones. Watched Kung Fu Hustle recently, a film produced by Stephen Chow. It was nothing too great really, but damn funny, no doubt. I think I lost my voice having laughed so much in the theatre. Guys and girls who haven't seen it should go, its for a good laugh. If you liked Shaolin Soccer, you would definitely enjoy this movie. There's also a small part about a girl he liked. It was rather short though, and didn't bring any significance to the story progression. However it was quite touching *sob sob*, great music as background to add to the feel.

Damn..Im running out of interesting topics to talk about....But I'll be back. I'll think of something. Maybe I'll make a review on KungFu next post, ...see first. Till then...watch the movie and comment.

Blabberings

GAMING - Today wasn't that bad. Bought Xenosaga 2 and it got me stuck to the PS2 for at least 8 hours. I just love the storyline and the graphics. Seems like this will keep me busy for the next 4 days or so, and at the same time keep me from thinking about my scores and other worrying stuffs. After this I still have Metal Gear Solid 3. The holidays will feel much shorter I bet.

CHINA - I'm still not gonna upload the photos yet. Got other things to do. Maybe some other day. Procrastinator, I am.

DOTA - man...this thing is damn addictive. I can't stop cause I'm owning so much. I guess the reason people play on is because they own, and ppl quit because they lose too much. I'm the kind who likes to see the 'pissed off' look on my friends' face when they get their ass kicked. It's just so much fun. Reason no.1 I play games. Although I don't really like the game that much, -been playing Warcraft since the beginning- , but no matter. I still like to see them whine :p

MAGIC - Played Magic again after a long time. Still never ceases to amuse. Though I dont feel like starting a career again in the game, I still would like to play a few games once in a while. Again, my main drive is the whine on my friend's face. Its so fun...feel the pain Govind? Muahahahah. Better luck next time dude..not to mention cards and skills too. :P Maybe u really should get your hands on Zhuuming's collection.

SAT 2 (encore) - Why does everyone complain about their scores when they got around 750 average? I don't see a problem there. Isit because of ego? Trying to say that you're not below average? Are you just trying to show that you could perform better while in fact you are quite happy already? Cmon get real. Be happy and smile. The worst whiners are the ones who whines about their victory. Sore winners. People hate that..at least I do. Friends will know who you really are. There is no need to show and be pretentious....sigh

HOLIDAYS - I see everyone went for holidays, sounds fun. We'll have lots of stories to share once school starts. Can't wait to hear them. Im sure everyone deserves their holidays after the amount of trouble we had to go through the past few months. :)

HER - Has been forgotten. I'll try to keep it forgotten. I'm sure its the best decision for all. I shall study and play and mix with friends. Nothing more, no more thoughts of relationship. I got enuf in my hands already. Time to get real.

Ahh feel better after expressin myself. Love my blog.

/Skeith, Merry Chirstmas to all in advance.

Heaven and Hell

Im home.

I'm just gonna ramble. Cannot be bothered to compose my thoughts now.

CHINA
Finally, after 10 days of non-stop looking at temples, streets and chicks...i'm finally home. 10 days was more than enough for me. China was a great great place with many nice stuff to look at :P, but too bad there was no snow. Stupid global warming.

If life was a rollercoaster, mine would be a very high and scary one. I'll talk about the fun part later, because I wanna tell about the last day in China. 9.55am was the time we were suppose to depart home. But due to some mechanial problems (just my luck), the flight was delayed. 5 hours later, the management announced that they were unable to resolve the problem and we had to cancel our flights. Fuh. That was when the flame was fanned. 20+ passengers were so frustrated of waiting, they just rushed into the check in counter and into the plane. Well not like its going to fly anyway. What happen later? They got locked up in the security quarantine while the rest of us were transported to a 5 star hotel for a luxury buffet dinner.

Our flight was rearranged and we took the 11pm plane to Singapore and from there the 10am plane on the next day back to KL. Along the way, more ppl made noise, more chaos, more anger more shouting around and more officers running about to shut the troublemakers. Phew. But alas, here I am back at home after a super rigorous journey, 29 hours later than the sceduled time.

The first 9 days were good, damned good. Will show u guys the pictures later. So many chicks in China, I am not kidding. It's heaven for men. And the men there are so ugly looking I dunno how come they have the biggest population in the world. How do they mix......haih. But the prettiest always end up with the ugliest, but richest. How unfair :( . Money is king there I guess. The restaurant waitresses provide the best service I've ever seen in my life. All cause the customers can pay for them. If u got cash, u rule.

SAT 2
Seems like the bad part doesn't end there. Came home and checked SAT 2.....yeah yeah....it sucked. Vanessa and Sin if you guys think you did bad, take a good look at mine.

12/2004
SAT Subject Tests
Test Completed

Math Level 2
700,58 percentile

Physics
770, 86 percentile

Writing
600, 45 percentile

I wanna cry now. Its so ironic. The easiest paper (Writing) turned out shit. I must have gotten 1 for my essay. And the hardest (Physics) I did quite ok. Overall, didnt touch 2100. This is when my rollercoaster comes to a very steep edge. Haihz... I can't seem to perform anymore. Life is changing for me... for the worse.

Gratz to Jun Xian :). Kinda expected too la actually. I mean if you cant get 800 for physics and maths you won't make a good quantom physicist. Sudad will be proud. Gratz again. I'm sure the admission officers will understand 790 for writing. :P

How did the rest of you do? Care to share? Drop me a line if its low. Drop a comment and boast bout it here if its high. No harm done cause sharing is caring :P Don't be shy to tell me of other's scores too hahaha.

Seems like Harvard and MIT just disappeared from my sight. Ah ah somebody is gonna cheer me up again. "No la, u sure get in wan" , "SAT 2 not important mah. No problem" . BLEEEEKK! Im not gonna succumb to that again. This time I know my chances just got thinner. Guess I'm welcoming Syracuse even more now. Haihz... I'm a broken soul. God save me.

Hmm...wonder how did she do...

SHE

...yea yea.. Damn man I told myself many times to let go, leave it be, dont think about it. But noooo, I can't seem to drop it. Sigh. Dunno why I miss her more nowadays. Maybe cause Im already free of applications and exams and got ntg better to think about. I always let time be the judge. But I'm ran out of patience, and now I cant seem to give her up. ARGH! She better piss me off 1 time for good so I can forget her. I'm suffering.

So, sum up my life for the past 1/2 month and you will get a sine graph with my mood rating as the amplitude. Yup. Except that the graph ends at 3/4, at the minimum point now. Hope it'll be a complete graph soon, I don't wanna stay this way. Feeling down sux.

I'm gonna down some alcohol, call some friends for bball, get some asses kicked in dota, watch Phantom of the Opera and KungFu Hustle (YEEHAW waited ages for this!), and finally have a great Christmas. Thank GOD for all of these. I miss home, but I miss my friends more. There is no place like home.

Polar Express - The Truth Within

Been to the cinemas with my friends after SAT 2 last week. Nearly the whole class was there, and we decided to watch something nice. Ended up with Polar Express. I walked in yawning, having second thoughts because I thought that the movie will suck. But since its Tom Hanks, I decided to just give it a try.

And I walked out smiling widely. The movie was a hit, beautiful graphics, touching scenes, great music. Most of the scenes were mere showoffs of the motion graphic designers. But overall it was very well done. Original actions like train drifting and hot chocolate serving turned me on :P. But the action didn't wear of after that. For the movie has a deep meaning in it. It might be a long read, but if you liked Polar Express, and devoted to Christianity, here's something for you :

A Christmas Story
The first thing that must be said about the film, The Polar Express, is that it is a Christmas Story. How obvious you say?.....No, not really! What touches the heart in this film goes way beyond the sentimentality of Santa Claus and Reindeer bells. What touches the heart is the real story of Christ that is revealed in this beautiful parable.

The film opens in the heavens, and then like the snow, comes down to earth, zeroing in on one young boy. We never know his name because he represents every child at the "age of identity"; The age when childhood faith is being assaulted by gown-up doubt and cynicism. The story finds this particular boy in darkness, overcome with the doubt and fear that he will never hear the sound of Santa's sleigh bells. The magazines he has consulted along with his own encyclopedia tell him the facts: Santa is not real and the North Pole is stark, barren, and devoid of life.
This is a parable of how a child loses faith in God and in the place where He dwells, the heavenly realm. What replaces this innate knowledge is doubt, cynicism, and unbelief, all substantiated by scientific fact. The God who spoke and created the world now becomes silent and irrelevant, while His heavenly domain is believed to be stark, barren, and devoid of life.

The Polar Express
Once one understands that this is a parable about a child's belief in God, the rest of the film falls easily into place. The magnificent Polar Express gives us an incredible picture of Jesus Christ, the One who opened the heavens and came down to retrieve the lost, unbelieving children of God and bring them back into His presence.

It arrives with great shaking
There is always great shaking in the presence of God.

The Conductor issues the invitation to go to the North Pole.
He invites the lost into the Kingdom of God.

The train is filled with light, refreshment, and joy.
He is the Light who is the source of all life and provision.

It has unique non-transferable tickets for each passenger.
He is the Giver of unique gifts to each member of His body.

The North Pole
There is a scripture which tells that the entrance to heaven is in the north. No wonder the North Pole is designed to look like that bright and shining City on a hill. The Polar Express crosses the sea of glass like crystal and arrives in the magnificent city where all the inhabitants have gathered to celebrate their creator. The trumpets sound, the doors are opened, and the king comes forth to sit on his throne.

The First Gift of Christmas
Hero Boy cannot hear the sleigh bells or see Santa until he believes with all his heart. At the moment he confesses with his mouth his third I believe, he hears the bell ring and comes face to face with Mr. C. This is the most beautiful scene in the movie. The children receive no condemnation. Each one is given a unique word, and they are transformed in that moment. Their round trip ticket is punched, and they learn their true identity, their unique gift. Is it surprising that the very thing that has been assaulted or perverted in each one of them is their unique glory?
What is the First Gift of Christmas? The first gift of Christmas is the greatest gift God gave to mankind. The gift of His Son, Jesus Christ, Who came down to earth to redeem the lost children of God and bring them back into His presence. To receive this gift, all one has to do is accept the invitation and climb aboard.

The Return

You must have thought that I've died. No actually im still here, just having a great hard time on the applications. TEDIOUS!

Hols has begun, SAT 2 is over, friends have gone back to their hometowns....and I'm going to China! Yea after 18 years I could finally visit the place of my origin. My true hometown. Looking forward to all those 'yeh mei' or also known as wild life delicacies. Fried ants, roasted wolf, and maybe even monkey brain. But I don't really want the brain though. Also looking forward to shopping. Yeah this time, EVERYTHING is made in China. How good is that? Just think of Rolex for $10 and Nike for $5. Best of all, they look and feel just like the original :P. Also, SNOW! I've never felt snow before in my life. This is my first time going anywhere further than Thailand actually. Snow, snow ... wonder how that feels like. Not to mention snowball fights :P. Thats about everything besides snapping pictures at the Great Wall of China, visiting the tomb of Mao Tzetong, taking a stroll in the Forbidden City, .....

Nothing much is going on these few days except applications. Damn them, they are killing me. Oh besides that its DOTA, argh damn you geoffrey you got me addicted. Feel free to call me out to play though, but only after 21st. Till then I'm shuffling between sleep and apps..then China.

Everyone seems to be breaking up with their girlfriends. While some of my friends are still going strong, most of them just broke up after the end of AUSMAT, or for some other reasons. Is it really that hard to keep a relationship? Sad sad puppy love. Better to spend time on basketball and dota, no? Girls are a waste of time at this age. At least I think so :P
