Shit magnet

I came to class this morning, sat down, and suddenly it smelled like shit. Blehh? Who stepped on dog shit anyway?

Took me awhile to realize that it was me... after noticing the stain beneath my shoes. Had to sprint out of the room to clean it off after that.

But God why me?? Let it be Vin who steps on these kinda things I don't really mind. I've been a good boy...:(

Lol that was intended. Sorry Vin, read ur blog :P . But really, I stepped on a pile of dog shit that stinked like shit.... twice in 7 days!! Jodoh dah sampai.

Will avoid green patches on the ground called grass next time. Curse them green little shit camouflage....!

Blogging in my Best Mood

Sunday, end of yet another week. But unlike previous disappointing weekends where I stood at home either sleeping or on my comp chatting, much has happened this week and it is indeed a story to tell. And without further adieu, here are the highlights of the week :

Semester 3
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ah yes, back to INTEC, to study, to life as a JPA scholar. My place is with the books. In fact, I looked forward to it because I was nearly bored to death (really) at home. Sorry for not able to find things to fill up time.

But sem 3 isn't all bad. I have a 2-hour class from Mon - Tues and two 2-hour classes from Wed - Fri. Putting it all together would give me say... 16 hours of classes a week. Not bad at all! A bonus to that is that we have no final exams, but 3 exams along the way. Which also means that I can study, take exam, and throw away everything from those topics once I'm done with them.

Calculus is not too bad. I have the basics. I need the effort to practice now. Ok, thats quite hard to do actually. But truthfully just by looking at my lecturer's face is giving me the initiative to work already. It's just that some people can drive me and others can't. I'll score this term for sure :D

Psychology, after much [not much really] consideration and thoughts, I've finally decided not to drop it. Call it kiasu. Or maybe I just wanna spend more time with friends there, considering I will only be seeing them for maybe 2 months left. But the point is that I'm not staying because I like psychology. Just tumpang the fun. I would still like to learn some new things there though. Hope it will work out for me.

A brand new start to the final semester. I'm going to cherish every moment I have left in INTEC.

Phantom of the Opera (2004)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Finally I got to watch the Phantom of the Opera [2004] after missing it when it screened in cinemas a few months back. But all was not well because I was interrupted by several unforseen... interruptions. The DVD I bought from an old man who goes around selling them from places to places. I felt enthusiastic again, because I will finally be able to watch what I have been missing time and again since few months back. Happy smile :D Then plans were made, and Sin, Joyce and I decided to watch the movie together over at Sin's place. For them its the 2nd run (and the most obvious reason I can think of is because they wanted to see hot Gerard Butler again :P) .

So when night came, we arranged the seats for a better view, tore open the snacks, poured out the Coke, turned off the lights, sat down on the sofa with wide open smiles on our faces :D, and pressed play...

... only to see ...

*plays Phantom music*

>> DISAPPOINTMENT !! <<

In case you didn't know already, thats the 1989 version of the movie. And to add to that, it isn't even musical - its Horror. Ah the HORROR!! True, the Phantom of the Opera is originally written as a great horror movie. But what we wanted that night was the grand musical opera, not some gruesome scary movie. As I scrolled through the scenes, all I got was ugly phantoms, screams, murder and the bright nights of downtown New York. Yea this film was set in the 21st century. I felt cheated :(

Angry and frustrated, I took my car and we sped to Pyramid to buy the real copy of the movie. We ended up buying a VCD, but it was good enough. Again, we sat down and pressed play...

...it played (yay)...

...then it started pixellating (hmm)...

...movie got choppy, and scenes were skipped every other minute (boohoo)...

[PiSSed]

We decided that it was Sin's player malfunctioning, so we brought the VCD over to my house instead to watch it there. I had to chase my mum off the TV...poor mum. And finally, it was playing smoothly. Proofs that my player are of a different standard entirely compared to the one of my neighbour's :P Ok I watched the movie for 2+ hours after that, completing what I have always been waiting for.

Overall, Phantom of the Opera [2004] is Magnificent. The music throughout the entire play was even better than its previous versions because the composers added an orchestra grandeur to the songs. Actors, [Gerard Butler] isn't all too bad, has a good voice, but [Emmy Rossum] IMO is the perfect person for the role of Christin. She can sing, not to mention a pretty sight for the eyes :) Other factors such as settings are nothing out of ordinary. The worthiest mention is the fact that although the Phantom of the Opera is originally Broadway, I was amazed that it managed to retain its beauty, its grandeur and of course its captivating atmosphere on the TV screen. A recommended watch for those who haven't seen it, from opera to Gerard Butler fans alike.

Arsenal vs Manchester United
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You have seen the match, you have experienced the tension, you have tasted the torture of penalties and extra time. Let it be known now that :

True, Man U dominated possession and had most of the shots throughout the entire game. But when they shot, they got denied by great Lehmann. When they had an opening, they missed. Even after they were given an extra 30 minutes to redeem themselves, they have failed to do so. SO why then does Arsenal NOT deserve the win?

Like Nick said, the opportunity was there, but Man U has failed to seize it. They have failed to take the game into their hands, and thus failed entirely to secure victory for themselves. Arsenal, on the other hand, played horribly (I had to admit), but managed to deny Man U's chances with great defending, and finally claim the throne by perfectly placing each and every valueable penalty balls into the goal.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com If you would let of steam on someone for the lost, blame it on him. After all it was he who failed to place in the most critical ball at that moment of time. All credits should go to him.

As of now, I celebrate what Arsenal has rightfully achieved yesterday. And we have Lehmann to thank for that great victory. So please don’t spoil it for me by saying “Man U deserved it. Arsenal got lucky.” If that’s the case, better luck next time, pal.

Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was a trip to KLCC yesterday with my friends to the MPO. It was a treat for JX and CCY, some gift we planned for their belated birthdays. But I was probably more engaged and excited. After all, its the MPO which has never failed to disappoint me or put me to sleep.

The play started at around 3. Oh and as we were about to enter the hall, Peter and CCY were warned because they came in sneakers. So they were sent to the stalls above instead. What a way to convert your RM18 tickets into mid-range RM50 ones :P .

First session began and it was a symphony by Johannes Brahms. I don't know much about him but what I do know is that this is one of his 2 piano based symphonies that he wrote. It was enriched with emotions of serenity, grandeur, sorrow and playful tunes towards the third movement, and finally ended with a grand closure. Oh and an encore too after that. People are just greedy, they cant stop clappin, ALWIZ. The pianist (forgot his name), excellent. Nothing out of ordinary though.

Second session was more enjoyable. A symphony by Antonio Dvorak. Began with something that sounded very similar to ballet music, then went on with sorrow and ended with something light but grandeur nontheless. Its more like a story of a child growing up, facing hardships of life and ending it with "its ok after all" kinda feeling. Impressive.

I like orchestras. They play with and manipulate our feelings. Love does the same. At least I can afford orchestras ;)

Looking forward to the next one.

Lina Inverse
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For those of you who don't play Dota or do not feel like reading this guide, feel free to skip it. This is dedicated to my roommate and my comrade in most things, especially Dota, Chan Chee Yong who has just turned 18 two days ago. He has taken a keen interest in this particular hero in Dota by the name of Lina Inverse. So here I write a guide as a gift to him, in hope that it will help him pwn more in the near future and also so that he would not disappoint the team. It's not just any Lina guide, its a Battle Lina. Feel free to correct me or comment on my opinions if it would improve this guide. Happy Birthday CCY - here goes :

Item Build

Early Game
Nulls + Nulls
Boots of Speed
RoR (if nuker or stunners in lane)
Mithril Hammer

Mid Game
Gloves of Haste = Power Treads
Mithril Hammer = Desolator
Point Booster + Ultimate Orb + Ultimate Orb = Eyes of Skadi

Late Game
MKB
Burize
Aghanim's Scepter

*Follow my item order because if you get skadi as your last item, you will be nuked and killed continuosly due to low hp. And if you are already getting killed one too many times, consider an ultimate orb after your 2nd hammer. I have added early stats to survive early harrassment but that might also fail sometimes when you have 2 nukers on your lane. Remember survival over damage.

Style

Time to analyze. Lina has great attack speed due to her spell Ultimate, a disable, and a 400-800 damage nuke. The cons is that, she has low dmg, low hp, and for this build, low mana. We need to fix those to own. Damage will be fixed using Desolator + MKB. HP and Mana I will fix with Eyes of Skadi.

1st thing, this build won't be playing Dragon Slave at all because you won't have the mana to spam your spells which will result you to do fountain trips more often. We concentrate more on your attack damage here. With superb attack speed and a stun AOE, farming would be rather easy. LSA is important though because of the stun, but it is harder to hit compared to Dragon Slave. So train properly.

Upon reaching Lvl 6, upgrade ur L.Blade and pwning is easy. Just stun, whack whack, Blade, +100 gold. Do this and farm till midgame (lvl 10). By midgame you should have your first damage item, which is the Stygian Desolator. That will make farming and pwning easier. Continue to farm and pwn, till you reach your Eyes of Skadi, giving you a hell lotta HP and MANA to spam stuff, not to mention a frost effect. Towards late game, all you need to do is build your dmg. MKB first for the attack speed, you will benefit more from it due to average damage because MKB gives a fixed amount of dmg increase unlike Burize. And after you get that MKB, game will either end, and if it doesn't just add a Burize to the shopping list. That should make you an unstoppable menace. And if the game sstill goes on, which is rare... get a scepter. That will transform you into a sexy Goddess with 4k hp, 2.5k mana, 1 minute cooldown with 1250 dmg laguna blade, 500-600 crit dmg, attacks going as fast as 3-4 shots per second, an AOE disabler, -6 armor per attack and finally frost effect. Beyond GODLIKE!, dont you agree? :D

I would still prefer the ordinary caster lina over a battlemage though. She is easily one of the most powerful Int Hero in the game because of her chain of nukes. Good luck pwning with Battle Lina!

OK THATS IT. Longest post in my history of blogging. I shall end here I'm tired and I'm sure you are too. Com hanged when I typed till MPO yesterday and I had to retype it today. Pissed...I was. But its ok. Blogging is fun. I learnt my lesson to save constantly.

Have fun. Cheers!
